What is Emu Oil?
Pure Emu Oil is the finished product from rendering and refining the fat of an Emu bird. In it's concentrated form it is an ultra-hydrating body oil, full of essential fatty acids, which promotes natural healing and rejuvenation of dry or damaged skin tissue. The benefits of Emu Oil are based on its high levels of anti-oxidants, collagen, elastins and natural anti-inflammatory properties, making it effective in relieving many skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis, acne as well as minor burns, cuts, and scrapes. In its pure form, it is helpful for many skin conditions and ailments. Emu Oil can also be added to other products - lotions, creams, shampoos, etc to make them more effective.
What is Emu Oil Used For?
Emu Oil’s ability to penetrate through the skin and deliver bio-nutrients to promote new cell generation, increase blood flow and drain away redness and inflammation has made it successful in treating many cases of acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, and other skin conditions. Emu Oil is also effective on first and second-degree heat, chemical and radiation burns. It takes away the pain of the burn and reduces scarring and blistering. Most wounds and surgical incisions heal much faster with emu oil. Its anti-inflammatory properties make it a natural treatment for the pain associated with arthritis, tendinitis, bursitis, shingles and even fibromyalgia. It also improves mobility. Professional athletes use emu oil in the locker room before games to loosen up tight muscles and after games to treat sports injuries.
Ingesting Emu Oil has shown to reduce joint inflammation, lower cholesterol and triglycerides and give all of the benefits of Fish Oil with its composition of Omega 3, 6 and 9 without the risks of heavy metal contamination. Emu Oil has also been shown to increase hair growth and reawaken sleeping hair follicles as well as increase strength and health of the scalp and hair shafts. Where does Emu Oil come from?
Emu Oil is rendered from the fat of the Emu bird. Our oil comes from Emu that are raised on small family farms in the USA. The birds are primarily raised for their heart-healthy meat; the oil is a by-product. Hides, bones, and feathers are also used. When the bird is processed for its meat the layer of fat between the muscle and skin is frozen and shipped to a specialty oil rendering facility to be rendered and refined. How Does Emu Oil Work?
The composition of Emu Oil is very similar to that of human skin. Emu Oil, unlike petroleum and many plant-based oils, does not contain phospholipids. The presence of phospholipids causes many oils to coat the skin’s surface and plug pores. This is why emu oil is so rapidly absorbed into the skin and allows your skin to breath. Emu Oil contains abundant Omega 3 and 6, 7 and 9, which increases its ability to encapsulate and carry other compounds through the skin. That is why emu oil enhanced products like our DuoFlex Topical Pain Cream work so well.
How to use Emu Oil?
Just apply a few drops to the desired area. Gently massage. You'll notice that it absorbs quickly and does not leave a greasy feeling. Remember, a little goes a long way; if the oil does not quickly absorb into the skin - you've applied too much. Our Emu Oil is a food grade oil and can be ingested to support your heart, nervous and digestive systems and reduce systemic, chronic inflammation which is the root cause of many disorders and diseases. You can ingest the oil by the spoonful, but most people prefer to take gel caps. Read more on the benefits of ingesting Pure Emu Oil.
How to tell it's the best Pure Emu Oil?
When you buy Emu Oil and Emu Oil Products it is important to know your source. Small U.S. farms that use sound natural and humane practices will produce the highest quality fat and studies have shown that emu raised in Northern climates produce fat with higher penetration and anti-inflammatory properties. Remember that fatty tissue is used to store excess toxins; Emu raised in sanitary conditions, without hormones, unnecessary antibiotics, chemical pesticides or herbicides provide the cleanest fat. Further look for rendering and refining practices. The American Emu Association created a certification program where 3rd party lab analysis is used to ensure the composition, purity, and stability of the oil. Always look for the AEA Certified Seal. Where should you buy Emu Oil?
The founders of Songline Enterprises LLC spent 20 plus years raising emu on our farm Songline Emu Farm. In 2015 we cut back on farming in order to focus on marketing oil from the fat of birds raised by many of the farms we helped get started. These farms all follow the same farming and feed practices that we established. The birds have plenty of space, fresh water, sunshine and attention without hormones, unnecessary antibiotics, chemical pesticides or herbicides. Know your source for emu oil. Ingredients: 100% Pure Emu Oil Certified by the American Emu Association with a drop of all Natural Vitamin E (non-soy) as a natural preservative.
I buy this in two ounce bottles and use it for my day moisturizer. I used to have pretty oily skin, but as I age my skin seems to just get drier. A small amount of this stuff goes a long way, and it has not only restored my skin to a more youthful feel, it has helped to dramatically soften some fairly deep lines in my forehead. And unlike most moisturizers on the market, it doesn't make me break out or irritate my eyes. I am very happy with this product.
I have the early signs of arthritis in my fingers and toes, but at the first feelings of stiffness or ache, I use this Emu Oil (with a drop of essential oil for additional anti-inflammatory properties and a nice fragrance). It really makes a difference. It has no smell on its own, so it is good to use as is. Especially if I have already have applied fragrance and don't want conflicting scents.
Great addition to daily routine. Adds lots of moisture, great under eyes as well. My concealer goes on smoothly and does not dry out during the day
love-love-love this! I am using this on my achy hands and feet (have the early signs of arthritis) and it really does ease pain and swelling. It does not have any odor, so it works very well Essential Oil products. I have already passed along samples to friends and hope they will be purchasing as well!
I have used it for years for cuts, incisions and skin irritations with amazing results.
Rich, creamy, and my skin drinks it up!!! Had been using an Australian product, but nice to have this US oil available and actually it is more lavish than the Australian oil.
Jo - Thanks for your comment. It's nice to hear that it feels more lavish than Australian. I have heard that from others. It may just be the quality of Australian Oil that is being marketed. But I do feel that with the US farmers feed programs and the natural processing we use we are producing an amazing quality oil. Dee Dee Mares
I use it to moisturize my face and hands; I rely on it to relieve the itching from poison ivy - nothing works better for me on poison ivy.
Thanks for your comments. I agree - Pure Emu Oil really helps with Poison Ivy. Just make sure that you have gotten rid of all the plant oils before you do. I always wait a day or two and try to get it drying before I turn to the Emu Oil. Dee Dee Mares
See is always a pleasure to talk to!
I wanted this to take internally. I didn't want gel caps so I take this by the spoonful. It has no taste or smell. Which some I tried did even
though they were AEA. I think I picked the right one. Am pleased with the product and the people I've talked to at this company. It's a keeper.
Dee Dee - Thank you Robin - we really appreciate your comments and are very proud of the quality of our oil. Thanks to the amazing work of our US farmers.
Love love love!! Leaves my skin soft i use it every night after I wash my face.. and in the morning i take a few pumps internally to help with my aches and pains
Dee Dee: Aurora - Thanks for reviewing. It is a pretty amazing product that can be used both trans-dermally and taken internally. I consider Emu Oil to be a gift from above.
This is my 3rd or 4th order of Emu Oil (along with a couple other items over that time) from Songline. I am very happy with the product and can always depend on the same good quality from them. I also appreciate their varied and updated dispensing tops because each had it's advantages and disadvantages with high quality emu oil's consistency/thickness. They really put time, thoughtfulness and effort into everything they do in my experience. Thank you Songline
I can’t say enough how much I LOVE pure emu oil & all Songline products! I live in the Colorado mountains where it’s extremely dry and cannot live without this wonderful oil. I swear my skin starts to hurt when I run out. ;) Great for face, hands & anywhere that you’re dry or have skin irritation. Dee Dee is amazing and I’m so glad I found Songline 5 or 6 years ago. ❤️❤️❤️
