What Are The Key Ingredients?

Epsom Salt is a naturally occurring mineral technically known as magnesium sulfate. It’s named after the town of Epsom in Surrey, England, where it was originally discovered over 400 years ago in the waters welling up from underground springs. It was termed a “salt” because of its crystalline structure, but it does not contain any sodium chloride, which is the active ingredient in salt.

When you add Epsom salt to your bathwater it dissolves and releases the magnesium, sulfate and oxygen molecules from the compound. Your skin being a highly porous membrane (and assisted by the Emu Oil in our Bath Salts), absorbs the minerals and starts a process in your body called reverse osmosis releasing harmful toxins and heavy metals from your body.  This process reduces inflammation, helps muscles and nerves function properly, relieves pain and muscle tension.

Dead Sea Salt is taken directly from the Dead Sea in Israel. While most sea salt contains 85% sodium chloride, Dead Sea salt has a much lower 30.5% sodium chloride content. In its place, Dead Sea salt contains magnesium, sodium, bromide, potassium, and calcium, among other minerals. These minerals come with a host of benefits for a person's skin and health across the board. One of the most amazing benefits of Dead Sea salt is its pain relief qualities.

Dead Sea salt offers relief for injuries and sprains as well as chronic rheumatic diseases. These include rheumatoid arthritis, knee osteoarthritis, and psoriatic arthritis to name a few.

MSM   (methylsulfonymethane)is an organic form of sulfur which occurs naturally in the environment.  It is in every cell of the human body and assists cells to absorb nutrients and expel waste.  It enables cells and tissues to release toxins that have built up over years.

Emu Oil is known for it's own powerful anti-inflammatory and circulation boosting properties, but also for it's ability to encapsulate other ingredients and draw them through the skin to deeply penetrate into skin, deep muscles, tissue and joints.

Arnica Oil commonly called leopard's bane. Arnica works by stimulating the activity of white blood cells that perform much of the digestion of congested blood, and by dispersing trapped, disorganized fluids from bumped and bruised tissue, joints and muscles. This homeopathic medicine has been used for hundreds of years to reduce inflammation and decrease pain.

Eucalyptus Oil is derived from the oval-shaped leaves of the Eucalyptus Tree originally native to Australia now grown all over the world for their medicinal properties. This oil has been used topically for thousands of years for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties but recent studies have shown that inhalation of the aromatics itself can relieve pain and reduce stress.

Ginger Root Oil is derived from the root of the Zingiber officinale herb, better known as Ginger. This flowering perennial belongs to the plant family that includes Turmeric and Cardamom and is native to the south of China but has now spread over much of the world.

The main chemical constituents of Ginger Oil are: Gingerol, Camphene, B-Phellandrene, α-Pinene, Geranial, Zingiberene, β-Bisabolene, β-Sesquiphellandrene, and Curcumene.

Studies on ginger have shown that it may alter and lower the amount of certain anti-inflammatory biomarkers such as TNF-alpha, IL-6, and IL-10 in your blood.  These tiny compounds trigger (sometimes in excess) inflammation causing pain.

Peppermint Oil is pressed from a hybrid species of spearmint and water mint (Mentha aquatica). It has cooling, invigorating and antispasmodic properties to help with muscle cramps. Studies have also shown that peppermint oil applied topically has pain relief benefits associated with fibromyalgia and myofascial pain syndrome.

Lemongrass Essential Oil has many medicinal properties. One of its compounds, Citral is known for reducing pain and cramps caused by any inflammation. This oil is often used as a home-treatment for rheumatoid arthritis and applied to the area of concern for pain relief.
